So, it’s been a busy summer and I am very aware that nothing much has happened with the phone box.  I’ve recently had a meeting with folk from St Mark’s church, just across the road from the kiosk. http://blog.stmarksportobello.org.  Apart from potentially offering some volunteers to assist with the renovation and maintenance, one of the congregation may be able to provide technical guidance with the installation of an array of monitors and other audio-visual equipment hung on the inside of the phone box displaying out against the glass.

Potentially, the monitors could be set-up to display different zones or areas, and these areas could then show artwork, photographs other images or videos, with a web-based interface controlling the whole thing remotely.  By going digital, it allows us to easily change and update what is shown, to allow local clubs, groups, churches and other faith groups, as well as individuals and local businesses to post messages, pictures, videos etc.

It’s still early days, but once we have more of an idea of costs we can then apply for full grants to help for funding.
